Naomi Osaka Dives into Pickleball with New Talent Agency

Naomi Osaka, one of the biggest names in tennis, is making waves in the pickleball world. The former world No. 1 and co-owner of The Miami Pickleball Club has launched Pro Pickleball Management (PPM), a new venture under her talent agency, Evolve.

PPM’s Star-Studded Lineup PPM is already off to a strong start, signing five top-notch pickleball players: Anna Bright, Federico Staksrud, Hurricane Tyra Black, James Ignatowich, and Rachel Rohrabacher. Staksrud and Black, who played for The Miami Pickleball Club last year, along with the others, are all ranked in the top 14 of their respective PPA Tour doubles rankings. Jamie Duguid, a former executive with MLS and IMG, is leading this new venture and is excited about working with the best in pickleball.

Quality Over Quantity Evolve’s approach is all about focusing on a few clients and doing a great job for them, rather than spreading too thin. This is the same strategy PPM will use in pickleball. In tennis, Evolve represents only three clients: Naomi Osaka, Nick Kyrgios, and Anna Kalinskaya. Duguid sees a lot of potential in pickleball, which is quickly gaining popularity. He believes brands are eager to partner with pickleball players, teams, and tournaments, making this the perfect time to get involved.

Tailored Partnerships PPM’s goal is to create personalized deals for their athletes, focusing on quality partnerships. Remote and Ready Even though Evolve is based in Los Angeles, it operates mostly remotely. Duguid, who’s based in Atlanta, says the company employs nearly 10 people directly and works with about 20 others, including those from Osaka’s production company, Hana Kuma. Duguid plans to step back from managing The Miami Pickleball Club to concentrate on growing PPM.
