Roger Federer Confesses: “Pickleball … is Fun”

Sooner or later, all renowned tennis players, past and present, might find themselves in the same situation as Roger Federer, acknowledging that pickleball is … dare we say … fun.

In a recent interview about his upcoming Prime Video documentary, “Federer: Twelve Final Days,” Federer revealed that he has recently developed an interest in pickleball.

“It felt like a larger version of ping-pong … It felt strange and surreal … It was around 110 degrees when I played, so I was more focused on coping with the conditions than the game itself. It’s an easier game than tennis and quite enjoyable.”

While some pickleball fans might take offense at calling the sport a large version of ping-pong or describing it as strange and surreal, we consider this a significant victory for pickleball.

Whenever one of the greatest tennis players admits a) that they have played pickleball and b) that they found it at least somewhat enjoyable, it’s certainly newsworthy to us.
